As modern medicine gained skill and understanding in upper extremity surgery, the need for specialized therapists became apparent.  Functional restoration of injured and diseased shoulders, elbows, wrists and hands, it was found, takes place more effectively following surgery when performed by a therapist with highly focused training and experience.

Certified Hand Therapist (CHT)

A CHT has five (5) or more years of experience as an occupational or physical therapist, has 2000 or more hours of treatment experience in hand rehabilitation, and has passed the national board certification examination.
